CASE Consultants Joins Forces with Tellus Civic Science to Strengthen Coastal Resilience Efforts
Climate resilience.
CASE is proud to announce the award of a $10M, 5-year contract to support NOAA’s Climate Resilience Regional Challenge (CRRC) program. This groundbreaking investment, managed through the Office for Coastal Management (OCM), will fund $575 million across 19 projects designed to enhance the resilience of coastal communities across the US facing climate change. The CRRC initiative focuses on building regional-scale collaboratives and implementing coordinated adaptation solutions, particularly for underserved, marginalized, and underrepresented communities. CASE’s strategic and technical assistance is vital to ensuring that the CRRC meets its ambitious goals.
As a key member of the Tellus Civic Service team, CASE brings its extensive expertise in climate adaptation, resilience planning, and environmental justice to the successful delivery of specialized technical assistance to CRRC grantees.
“CASE is honored to support Tellus and contribute to this transformative effort to safeguard our nation’s coastal communities against the growing challenges posed by climate change,” said Liz Tarquin, CASE CEO.
CASE’s support will include:
Climate Data Development, Visualization, and Modeling: CASE supports the creation of advanced analytic tools and data visualization techniques to enable data-driven decisions, ensuring accessibility for communities with limited technical resources.
Application of Social Science Data, Tools, and Techniques: By integrating social science methodologies, CASE helps communities address the social and economic impacts of climate change, ensuring resilience strategies are equitable and sustainable.
Training and Capacity Building: CASE provides training programs that empower local stakeholders, enhancing the ability of regional collaboratives to implement effective climate adaptation and resilience strategies.
Meaningful Community Engagement: CASE is committed to inclusive dialogue, particularly with historically underserved communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed in adaptation strategies.
Climate Adaptation Policy and Implementation: With extensive experience in climate adaptation policy, CASE guides CRRC collaboratives through regulatory landscapes, ensuring strategies are both effective and compliant.
The success of the CRRC will be measured by the ability of diverse communities, including tribes and municipalities, to leverage the program’s outcomes to build stronger, climate-resilient regions. Through CASE’s involvement, CRRC collaboratives are better equipped to optimize grant outcomes and maximize long-term benefits for the communities they serve.
