Sustainability Policy & Engagement Subject Matter Expert

Location: Remote, nationwide

Overview: CASE Consultants International, LLC (CASE) is a leading consultancy specializing in environmental and sustainability solutions. We are currently seeking Sustainability Policy Subject Matter Experts to join our team. The ideal candidates provide expert guidance on sustainability policy development, engaging with external stakeholders (government and commercial), and analyzing the impact of emerging policies on client strategies. These are full time, fully benefited positions, with flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Analysis: Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in sustainability policies, focusing on climate-related issues.

  • Impact Assessments: Conduct comprehensive environmental and social impact assessments to support policy and strategic decision-making.

  • Strategic Support: Assist clients in developing strategic positions and narratives related to sustainability.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Contribute to the creation of sustainability-related insights, whitepapers, and external reports.

  • External Engagement: Lead or participate in external engagements with stakeholders, including industry groups and working committees, to represent CASE’s expertise and advocate for client interests.

  • Relationship Building: Establish and maintain a network of professional relationships with external organizations to advance sustainability initiatives.

  • Internal Collaboration: Work effectively with internal teams and leadership to integrate sustainability insights into CASE’s consulting services and strategies.

Education, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.

  • Experience: At least 10 years of experience in sustainability policy development and implementation.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of various industries’ sustainability challenges and risks.

  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of emerging sustainability topics, energy industry trends, strategies, and technologies.

  • Policy Knowledge: Strong grasp of global and governmental climate policies, regulations, and market mechanisms.

  • Skills: Proven expertise in climate policy development and technical sustainability data analysis, including calculation methodologies and limitations.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior management and stakeholders.
