Climate Change Communities Program Coordinator
Overview: CASE Consultants International is seeking a Regional Climate Change Communities Program Coordinator to oversee, manage, and complete projects and activities aligned with the goals and objectives of the Council’s Climate Change Coordination Program (CCCP) under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA). This position focuses on coordinating CCCP efforts within either the American Samoa or Mariana Islands areas, working closely with Honolulu and other Council staff to drive successful project outcomes, manage project-specific partners, and ensure thorough reporting and communication of project status and needs.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Planning
Collaborate with Honolulu and Island Coordinator Council staff to develop project plans, define project partner requirements, set implementation schedules, and monitor all CCCP project activities in the designated island area.
Manage project milestones and deliverables, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
Project Partner Oversight
Provide oversight to project-specific partners, including development and monitoring of scopes of work, schedules, and work products.
Ensure project partners adhere to project requirements, maintaining quality and timely completion of all deliverables.
Reporting & Communication
Prepare regular written reports for the Executive Director and program staff detailing project status, issues, and operational needs.
Maintain clear, ongoing communication with Council staff and relevant stakeholders.
Committee Participation & Meeting Coordination
Participate in priority area steering committees and project coordination meetings, contributing to discussion, planning, and documentation.
Assist in preparing meeting materials, documents, presentations, and reports for CCCP-related committees and stakeholder meetings.
Council Engagement
Attend Council meetings and provide updates as necessary to the Standing Committees, Scientific and Statistical Committee (SSC), Archipelagic and Pelagic Plan Team, Advisory Panel, Fishery Industry Advisory Committee, and other Council body meetings.
Other Responsibilities
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director to support the CCCP objectives.
Qualifications
Management Experience: Strong administrative skills with a background in coordinating complex programs involving multiple concurrent projects and oversight of professional personnel.
Marine Resource Knowledge: Familiarity with the Magnuson-Stevens Act and other relevant policies, regulations, and guidelines for marine resource management and conservation in the Pacific Islands Region.
Regional Expertise: Knowledge of the Council’s role and Pacific Island community cultures, natural resources, territorial fishery agencies, federal fishery agencies, and fishing and seafood communities in the Western Pacific Region (WPR).
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated leadership abilities and the capacity to work independently to produce deliverables on schedule.
Travel Requirement: Ability to travel to U.S. Pacific Islands as necessary to support project development, monitoring, and execution.
Residency: Residency in American Samoa or Mariana Islands is highly desirable for applicants specific to those contract coordinator roles.
